I miss you, Nottingham

Today, it’s 17 days since I left Nottingham. I would’ve never guessed how early I am going to write this article but here we go.

Let’s go back in time and remember how great Nottingham actually is. ❤️

Happy Friday my fellow quaranteeners!

Long time no see! Sorry about that. I am sure you agree that these past two weeks were like scenes from a bad episode of Black Mirror…which is keep going.

The terrible C-word affects everything in the world, travelling included. The only way we can travel now is with a finger on a map. But hey, let’s occupy our minds with something more positive. I still owe you this article about my new fave place – Bristol.

Here it is but I have to warn you, this isn’t one of those “TOP 5 places not to miss in Bristol”, I tell you a bit more about the atmosphere the city gives away and makes you fall in love with it!

Women should…

It’s THAT day of the year again.

For many of you, it might not be a big deal, but for me…

It’s my favourite day of the year. Happy International Women’s Day, ladies!

This is a reminder for all of us! Hope you will enjoy it and it may widen your perception a bit as well.

PLUS BONUS: There’s a little message for all the men reading this. 🙂 (I had to. #sorrynotsorry)

Banksy walking tour

First, for those who don’t know, Banksy is an anonymous street artist born in Bristol. According to Wikipedia, his art is satirical and it combines dark humour and graffiti.

A year ago, my friend showed me Banksy’s work in Dublin. I love travelling with her because I always learn something new. Usually, I am all for the hidden gems,  but she, on the top of that, is into street art. She had all the locations written down in her phone notes and was ready to wander around the city to find them.

My first Banksy art “hunt” didn’t make me a master in his art but I have to admit that the searching process was interesting. The specific location is usually unknown but you can find hints online. Most of the time you just stand somewhere near (without knowing it) looking around for a painting on a building. However, when you find what you are looking for, you can feel the satisfaction coming at you all at once as a huge wave.

When I found out that Banksy is actually from Bristol, I’ve decided to do a walking tour on my own…

(My) TOP 3 tips how to spend Valentine’s day alone

Happy Valentine’s / Galenstine’s / Palenstine’s day! (BTW the beautiful feature picture is mine, from Dublin  ❤️)

The day of love is here again, and here I am, spending it alone…again. BUT for the first time in my Valentine’s day history, I do have a boyfriend (yaaay!). But you know, that’s the loss of studying miles and miles away from your country. You don’t really get to celebrate your first Valentine with your love. Anyway, if gals and pals (Galentine’s / Palentine’s) can have their own day, I am going to do mine as well! Since all of my friends are in a relationship, or far away (Sending you all the love!)

So this post is for all of you who are single/alone on Valentine’s day. It’s really important to realise that being alone on Valentine’s day is not the end of the world! It’s actually a wonderful opportunity to appreciate yourself and treat yourself! So hands up all of you who are going for it with me! Here’s what I am going to do on February 14th, so scroll down for some inspo!

Work Placement No. 1 – Mollie Makes (2/2)

Read the previous part here.

Work placement in Mollie Makes made me realise 4 things:

  • Office job is killing me.
  • I love interviewing people.
  • I am not sure if journalism is the right industry for me.
  • Immediate Media is one of the best companies to work for.

Work Placement No. 1 – Mollie Makes (1/2)

It’s Friday and I finished my two-weeks work placement at Mollie Makes. A wonderful craft and lifestyle magazine that was introduced to me at the beginning of the academic year. Little did I know that once I will get an amazing opportunity to be part of this successful publication.

I have decided to write down all my thoughts and experience of these past two weeks. And as a proper journalist, I am going to be completely honest.

On the other hand, what is not really “journalism-friendly” is the length of the whole piece, so for the sake of you, I’ve split it into two parts.

Nottingham Christmas Markets

I know, I know. It’s too late for publishing article about Christmas markets, but I cannot help it. Since I bailed on my blog at the end of last year, I have to catch up now. And, to be fair, I don’t really want you to miss on my November/December trips. Because you would miss quite a lot.

So, are you ready to dive in to the past?

No resolutions. Plans is the right way to go!

Yep, yep! Happy New Year, everybody!

I am back after two (and something) months of completely bailing on my blog. *guilty puppy look* And I am ready to get back to business.

But before I start, am I the only one who doesn’t do New Year’s resolutions but make plans instead? Pardon me? You say you don’t know the difference? Oh, that’s easy, let me explain…
